One Straw Revolution: Book Discussion and Workshop

Masanobu Fukuoka’s Book has inspired generations of farmers to explore methods of farming that work with the land. This workshop will offer conversation around the book and the philosophy. See the real life examples of methods used by the Gillingham family on two local farms. Amy and Wes Gillingham of Wild Roots Farm have farmed using many of the farming practices taught by Masanobu Fukuoka and adapting them to the Catskill Mountains ecosystem for nearly 30 years. Iris Fen Gillingham, founder of Gael Roots Community Farm has also drawn inspiration for applications on the new farm. During the workshop there will be discussion of the recommended reading "One Straw Revolution" by Masanobu Fukuoka which you can find at the Livingston Manor Free Library, Libby App, Free audiobook on Spotify Premium, and for purchase at The Hound Books Store in Roscoe.
