Spring Foraging

  • Gael Roots Community Farm 734 Cattail Rd Livingston Manor NY 12758 (map)

Join Haley Birt and Iris Fen Gillingham for a hike around the farm and surrounding woods to learn about foraging. Explore some of the traditional wild foods of the Catskill Mountains, many of which can be found right in your backyard! Learn about dandelion, mustard greens, violet leaves, burdock, and ramps, plus meet some of the delicate woodland ephemerals like spring beauties and trout lilies! This is a two-hour program where we will identify, harvest, and learn preparation.

Registration required. Suggested donation $15 - $20 per person. To be paid in cash upon arrival or donated online here.
